Call for Papers – 4th International Congress of Integrative Medicine

 

The 4th International Congress of Integrative Medicine (ICIM) collaborates with the International Journal of Psychology and Neuroscience (IJPN) to publish high-quality articles presented at the ICIM in a special or regular issue of the IJPN. 

Post-Conference Special or Regular IJPN Journal Issue

We invite the submission of high-quality research, review papers, and case studies from academics, practitioners, and professionals engaged in various aspects of integrative medicine.

Selected papers will have the opportunity to be published in their entirety in a special or regular issue of the IJPN (www.neuropsyjournal.com), which is indexed in Qualis as B2 and registered with CrossRef. This publication offers a platform for researchers and practitioners to disseminate their findings to a global audience, thereby contributing to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field.

Specific topics

 Mind-Body Medicine: Exploring the connection between mental and physical processes and how integrative medicine practices, such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and relaxation therapies, influence both physical and mental health, including immune response, stress regulation, and pain management.

 Neuroscience of Meditation and Mindfulness: Studies focusing on the effects of meditation and mindfulness on the brain, including neuroplastic changes, impact on brain activity, and how these practices might affect mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

 Integrative Approaches in Mental Health: Examining how the incorporation of complementary and integrative therapies, such as acupuncture, music therapy, art therapy, and others, can complement or enhance conventional treatments for conditions like anxiety disorders, depression, autism spectrum disorders, among others.

 Nutrition and Mental Health: Investigating the role of nutrition and supplementation in mental health, including the impact of specific diets (such as the Mediterranean diet) on mood, cognitive function, and the prevention of neuropsychiatric disorders.

 Integrative Approaches to Chronic Pain Management: Exploring integrative therapies like acupuncture, chiropractic care, physical therapy, and how these approaches may influence pain perception and improve the quality of life for patients with chronic pain conditions.

 Neuroscience of Expressive Therapies: Studying the effects of expressive therapies such as art therapy, dance, music, and drama on the brain and psychological well-being, including emotional regulation and creative expression as therapeutic tools.

 Impact of Stress on Physical and Mental Health: Investigating how chronic stress affects the brain and body, and how integrative interventions like relaxation techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness can assist in stress management and prevent stress-related illnesses.

 

Submission Guidelines:

Full papers should be submitted accordingly the APA 7th edition guidelines and the Guide for Authors IJPN rules (see it in the IJPN website, www.neuropsyjournal.com ).

Publication Process:

Accepted papers will undergo a double-blind review process integrating elements from both the Congress and the International Journal of Psychology and Neuroscience.

The selected papers will be published in a special or regular issue of IJPN following the ICIM.

Important Dates:

Submission Deadline (full paper submission): January 31, 2023

Notification of Acceptance: March 31, 2024

Publication in IJPN: Following the ICIM, in the end of April 2024
